There are plenty of beer festivals. Some really local, and some very regional. Some are focused while others have huge variety. Here are my pick of eight ‘things to do’ in June.
June 3, History on Tap at Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Rd, Fishers, IN. History On Tap 5:30, 6:00, OR 6:30 start (different levels) until 10 p.m.. General Admission includes samples and demonstrations of beer making.
Fest of Ales, 3-7 p.m. at the Riverfront Amphitheater in downtown New Albany, IN. One of my picks for beautiful southern Indiana. Over 250 Craft Beers from breweries & distributors all over the Midwest. A great place to find some unusual pours! A hops area and a sours area plus huge variety. AND…. a fund raiser for the WHAS Crusade for Children helping kids with medical needs. Last year, the event raised more than $14,000.00 for area kids. Organizer Todd Antz has tremendous pull as owner of liquor stores and truly gets a fabulous beer selection while helping the community. Todd is a man with a truly big heart. We attended last year and were thrilled with the variety as well as the charity! Fest of Ales
Midwest Sour + Wild + Funk Fest, 1-5 p.m. at the Indianapolis City Market, 222 E. Market Street, Indianapolis, IN. The name says it all. This is a great place for those who love to pucker up with their beer and who want to try the broadest variety possible. Twenty Five Breweries, with general admission starting at 2 p.m. We’ve been the last 2 years and had a great time trying SO many! Midwest Sour + Wild + Funk Fest
Anderson On Tap, 1-5, Dickmann Town Center – 1124 Meridian Street, Anderson, IN. General Admission at 2 p.m. Last year the advantage was a small number of Indiana breweries where we could really talk to brewers and sample with them. Twenty five this year. Anderson On Tap

June 17, Hops-N-Props Warbird Expo. Indianapolis Regional Airport-Mt. Comfort, IN, 6-9 p.m. Beer and Planes. Intimate event. Smaller number of breweries but planes to ogle! Hops N Props
June 18, Brew Ha-Ha Craft Beer Fest, 700 block of N. Park Avenue between Massachusetts Avenue and E. St. Clair Street , Indianapolis, IN. 2-7 p.m. with general admission at 3:00. Brew Ha-Ha
Fermentation Celebration, Muscatatuck Park & Campgrounds in North Vernon, Indiana. 2-6 p.m. sampling, beer garden 7-11 p.m. Camping included. This is a NEWBIE, 1st annual and we are excited for our friends at Old Vernon Liquors.
