Beer Events! Irvington, Noblesville, Portage, Evansville & more….

Fall is a great time for local beer fests.  SEPTEMBER EVENTS!  Here’s a list and easy links to tickets:

Irvington BrewFest, Sept 22, 7 pm at Our Lady of Lordes, 21+ is a delightful small community beer fest on the east side of Indianapolis. (Our main photo for this piece) Held beside the church with tables and talking plus beer, spirits, and cider it fosters a local spirit to unite the neighborhood.  Breweries this year are: Bier; Black Acre; Centerpoint; Central State; Fountain Square; Metazoa; Sun King;  St. Joseph; along with Ash & Elm for cider and 18th Street Distillery.  Here is a link to our preview from last year and we had a great time meeting folks and sipping a cold brew last year. Noblesville Brewfest, September 22,  Forest Park Aquatic Center, Noblesville,3 -7 pm, 21+  In addition to local breweries they promise 250 beers as distributors arrange many bottles to be available.   Brewery list from last year is a hint for this year:  Barley Island; Bier; Big Lug; BJs Brewhouse; Daredevil; Deer Creek; Devil’s Trumpet; Flix Brewhouse; Four Day Ray; Grand Junction; Half Moon; Metazoa; Noble Order; People’s; RAM; Redemption; Rock Bottom; Round Town; Sun King; Taxman; Triton;   prizes, a live band and silent auction.    TICKETS HERE

Portage Brewfest & Taco Test, Sept. 22, Founder’s Square Park, Portage,  4-7 pm, with taco taste testing from each vendor 5-8 pm.   21+  Breweries:  Byway, Bulldog, & Shoreline are the current Indiana breweries listed along with Bell’s Revolution, Greenbush, Lagunitas, New Holland, Sam Adams and Pabst (I’ve not seen that one at a beer fest recently – but hey) There is a lot of live music & the event benefits the Local YMCA and Chamber of Commerce. SWIRCA Brew Fest, Sept. 22, Evansville, Historic Bosse Field, 6-9 pm.  VIP at 5;  Benefits SWIRCA, a local non-profit. Food, games, entertainment, over 300 beers promoted:  Indiana Breweries listed are Triton, Taxman, & 18th Street along with Bell’s, Yuengling, & Heineken (I hear they love lighter beer in Evansville, but now have plenty of craft beer, too). With Monarch supporting there is bound to be a lot of other beer poured! TICKETS HERE

Amber Waves Beer Fest, Sept. 15, Rensselaer, Jasper County Fairgrounds, 2671 West Clark Street, Rensselaer, IN, Beerfest with wine; Noon – 4 pm Central Time. Entertainment and food continues until at least 10 pm.  They claim 47 breweries and of those listed on their site we count 11 Indiana breweries including local Fenwick Farms , and Zorn Brew Works of Michigan City – a brewery resurrected from a long closed 1871 to 1938 brewery.  The brewery list ranges from Blue Moon and Goose Island, to Firestone Walker and Lagunitas but also includes Evil Horse of IL, Dark Horse and Perrin Brewing of Michigan as well as 3 Floyds, Burn Em, Byway, Devil’s Trumpet, Evil Czech, Four Fathers, Metazoa, Off Square, Orthocity, Pokro, and Upland from Indiana.  Tickets can be purchased HERE

Whitestown Brew Fest, Sept. 15, Whitestown, at the Whitestown Municipal Complex at 6210 Veterans Drive, Whitestown, IN 1-4:30 pm with VIP 12-1. with approximately 25 Indiana Breweries and wineries featuring new beer releases.  In addition beer will be offered by about 30 or more home brewers. Monastery Beer Festival, Sept. 15, Ferdinand Indiana, at the St. Benedict Event Hall, 21+ Noon – 4 pm.
