Columbus Craft Beer Fest, August 27

Columbus Beer Fest

Morning Rain could not dampen the spirits for a large Columbus Craft Beer Fest.  We’ll have pics and coverage up very soon!

Here are FIVE reasons to attend the Columbus Craft Beer Fest! – First, full disclosure.  I’ve known the main organizer of the Columbus, Indiana, Craft Beer Fest for several years.  She is a true go-getter, she is not in the beer industry, and she impressed me with a desire to make this a great festival in beautiful downtown Columbus, Indiana.   So…. the FIVE REASONS to GO:

FIFTY Indiana Breweries or Cideries!  (+ a couple of out-of-state breweries + a home brew club).  The breweries span from North to South so you are SURE to find a brewery you don’t get samples from often.

 Have you had beer from

Pokro Brewing (Griffith, IN); New Corner Brewing (Muncie, IN); Evil Czech (Mishawaka, IN) ?

Schnitz Brewery (Jasper, IN); Tin Man (Evansville, IN), Tell City Brewing (well Tell City, IN of course)?

Country Boy Brewing (Lexington, KY), Falls City Brewing (Louisville, KY), New Albanian (New Albany, IN)?

Really?  If you can say yes to all of those 9, north and south, you get around!   but wait, some will bring special surprises!

And there are many, many more!

Brewers are intermingled with small lesser known brewers between big well known brewers.  This help keep lines down – but of course if everyone just HAS to have ONE beer from that ONE brewery they love, then there will be a line. But the tickets are limited to reduce lines!

Beautiful PARK setting.   Downtown Columbus, IN, has long been a center of interesting architecture with green space. Mill Race Park was once recognized by Landscape Management as one of the top 100 parks in the nation for design, reputation, and accessibility.  There is a guest tent with tables to stand and free water to refresh.   There are even games provided by the men’s rugby club in Columbus.

FOOD Vendors – Multiple local food providers from BBQ to tacos to burger food so plenty of items to snack on!

MANY Port-a-potties.  Yes, about one-hour into a beer fest potty lines form!  This fest has ordered the largest number of potties we’ve heard of to help reduce the wait.  This is a huge effort to keep you ‘in the game.’  I think this may be the second most important positive about this fest!
