Crawfish Boil comes to Indy

by Mark Mahon

First of all before I get started...Hello everybody...remember me?

The last time I posted here I was 70 lbs heavier with a beard and long hair! So welcome back the new me!

As some of you probably know Mike Deweese's new place J Gumbo's recently started a Saturday night Crawfish boil.

First of all the food here is outstanding, in it's own right! But now he is offering crawfish boils on Saturday nights. So when he sent out the flyer announcing the crawfish boil, I just new I had to check it out.

According to Mike these will probably be held on the Saturdays the Colts are at home. And as usual Mike has a great selection of draft and bottled beer.

Here is the flyer I recieved.

I arrived early with the wife so we could both enjoy a few beers.

On this particular night Abita agreed to sponsor a 3 sample flight (5oz each) for each crawfish boil sold. The beer we had were Turbodog, Purple Haze, and Amber.

Shortly after 8pm Mike brought us out a bucket of fresh steamed crawfish, and on our plate we had red potatoes, Andouie sausage, and a small ear of corn. Unfortunetly I didn't get a picture of my plate until after I had devoured everything...

As you can see here mine is empty except for some slightly demolished crawfish carcasses!

So if you are into Cajun food, and good beer stop by J. Gumbo's. And if it's a Colts home week check out the Crawfish boil. And don't forget about the crawfish races!

So until next time....hopefully not as long as last time!

Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
