Humane Society of Hamilton County is at Metazoa August 11;
Girls Pint Out has Honky Tonk Night at Duke’s August 16;
Wamm Fest in Greenwood is August 18;
Beers Across the Wabash is August 25;

Benefit for the Humane Society of Hamilton County at Metazoa Brewing, Saturday, August 11, afternoon 12-3 pm. We love our animals and a chance to drink beer and help!   Metazoa donates 5% of all profits to animal support.   The Brewery is at 140 S. College Avenue.

Girls Pint Out hosts a ladies only Honky Tonk Night with Rhinegeist brewery on Thursday, August 16, at 6 p.m at Duke’s on S. West.  Tickets include a four-beer flight of Rhinegeist beer as a guided beer tour, plus a 4 oz. sample beer slushy with Rhinegeist Wowie of pineapple and passionfruit, all in addition to a small plate of Duke’s wings and mac’n’cheese.   Duke’s is a self described honky tonk at 2352 S. West Street, about 3 miles or 6 minutes south of IUPUI created as a new neighborhood pub (formerly the Ice House). Duke’s invites you to bring your own country vinyl!   Cost is $15. Tickets are available here Live music starts at 8 and you are welcome to stay.

WAMMfest, Greenwood, holds the 10th anniversary event at Craig Park, on Saturday August 18, 11 am to 8 pm. Breweries this year include Bier Brewery (see our story on Bier as one of the most awarded breweries in Indiana CLICK HERE: Best Breweries… ) Cedar Creek, Centerpoint, Flat 12 Bierwerks, Mashcraft, Oaken Barrel, Planetary, Quaff On!, Sun King Brewing, and Taxma Brewing. There are seven wineries, seven food trucks, and a host of restaurants and food booths along with Art, a line up of bands on TWO stages, and a Greenwood kinda good time. Beers Across the Wabash 7th annual is held August 25, 3-7pm at the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge found at 200 North 2nd Street in Lafayette.  This includes the venerable Lafayette and People’s Brews but also such breweries as Brokerage, Teays River,  Backstep, Crasian, Kopacetic, and more.

The first ever Michiana Beer Week will be held  August 18 – 25. There are events every night and the fest will conclude with DoubleThaIPA day at Bare Hands noon to 7 on August 25 with the release of cans of Double ThaI.P.A, and 4 variants.   We will write more about that BUT for more information on Michiana Beer Week click HERE
