I have been working on a list of some of the upcoming events in May. I will be up dating this list as I collect more information about some of the things that are going on in our wonderful State of Indiana! Be safe out there and have fun! Cheers! (If you missed an event but want to remember it, scroll to the bottom of this piece!)
.May 19, Friday 7pm-10pm: Drink & Draw at 18th Street Brewery 5417 Oakley Ave, Hammond, Indiana, 46320. 18th Street’s Drink and Draw is a fun way for to get out of the house, show creative work, meet other artists and fans, and become acquainted with possible buyers in an open and unbiased environment.
Artists: if you like to draw, or paint, or decoupage, stop by and make some art while enjoying great beer (or craft cocktails, or soda or water). You may hang what you have created on their display wall to show and sell during the event and you keep all money from the sale. Have premade work? Bring it in a portfolio to show off. They want to keep the display wall open for art that is made at the Drink & Draw. Bring business cards to hand out to anyone interested in your work.
Public: Come in and see art being created right before your eyes. If you see something you like you can talk directly with the artist about purchasing it on the spot. Or, maybe you have been wanting a piece of art for your living room- now you have a room full of artists that you can talk to about what you would like.
