A friend @indybeersleuth suggested Oct. 22-28 become #IndyBeerWeek which culminates in the Big, new, but kinda ‘revamped’ Broad Ripple Beer Fest, Oct. 28, Opti Park.
What is #IndyBeerWeek? 1) a reason to drink local Indy Beer, 2) a celebration of local beer, 3) a declaration of thinks to do in Indy and environs that can involve beer!
There is always something going on in the world of local beer!
For example HopCat BroadRipple had a Wood and Wild ‘fest’ with Three Indy Breweries featured among 40 total beers that were wood aged or funked: Brugge, Central State and Taxman (central Indiana) Sunday, Oct. 22, all day.
Triton Brewing,5764 Wheeler Rd, Indianapolis/ Lawrence, has a Gingerbread beer tapping Wednesday, Oct. 25 all day.

Black Circle Brewing, 2201 E 46th St, Indianapolis, hosts Girls’ Pint Out on Wednesday, Oct. 25, for a practical session on home repair with Jack Hope of Hope Plumbing, Brian Schutt of Homesense Heating and Cooling, and Kourtney Zahn of Chimney & Masonry Outfitters giving tips and tricks on home repairs.
Sun King Brewing, 135 N. College, Indianapolis, releases their award winning Batch 666! Thursday, Oct. 26, 10am- 9pm
Broad Ripple Beer Fest, Saturday, October 28, Opti-Park, Broad Ripple/Indianapolis: After taking the big Indiana Microbrewers Festival to Military Park, many yearn for the comfy feel of its former location at Opti-Park. FORTY FIVE Indiana breweries will be pouring samples including cask conditioned ales and special fall beers from at least 10 breweries. As was true of earlier fests in Broad Ripple there will be some guest brands outside of Indiana, too. Opti-Park provides a shaded, fall setting nestled in the woods but with plenty of grass to spread out. The park it just 3 blocks north of the famed and historic Broad Ripple Brew Pub, the origin and roots of much craft beer in Indiana. Broad Ripple is just 20 minutes north of the Circle in the center of Indianapolis.
Tickets are $50 online on or before Friday, Oct. 26, $60 online on Saturday, and $70 at the gate if any are available. Bring your ticket and 21+ ID to HopCat Broad Ripple or Broad Ripple Brewpub from 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, October 27 to get a wristband, and enter the festival on Saturday in a dedicated lane!
We’ve truly enjoyed this location as a site to get personal and chat with brewers. Enjoy a beer fest at the heart and home of the earliest Brewers of Indiana Guild fests! 780 E 66th St, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
