There are some great beer fests in September.
SEP 23; Irvington BrewFest, 7pm – ?, 30 S Downey Ave, Indianapolis, at Our Lady of Lourdes church. $20. This is a more intimate fest but no longer part of the church fall festival (which happens the following weekend). Breweries include Sun King, Bier Brewery, Black Acre, Fountain Square, St Joseph, and Metazoa along with Ash and Elm cider. La Mexi-Gringa and NY Slice will serving food! Each ticket holder gets a swag bag with brewery magnets or stickers plus a new 2017 pint glass and the passport to all the beers. Beyond samples fest goers can fill their pint for $5. Sept. 23, Corn Maze Beer Fest, N of Columbus, IN: 1:30-5. More than 40 craft breweries INSIDE a 5 acre custom designed corn maze. Go through the maze to find the beer!. Local food trucks, Live music and special releases by 450 North Brewery for Corn Maze Beer Fest 2017! Each ticket will also come with a specialty limited 450 North beer in a CROWLER(32oz can). SEP 23; Noblesville, IN, Brew (& Wine) fest; 3-7 pm, Forrest Park, $50 at the gate; $43 advance Click here about 20 local craft breweries + plenty of bottled beer from distributors!
SEP 30; Columbus Craft Beer Fest, 3-6 General ($35) , 2-3 VIP ($50); Millrace Park, 50 Carl Miske Dr., Columbus; THIS is a big one. 55 breweries, huge park venue around the pond, food, entertainment, the most port-a-potties we’ve ever seen at a fest! Check out our article from 2016 here. Less than 3 miles off I-65 at Columbus, IN, this festival has been very well run, with each brewery required to bring quantities of beer. Brewers are even incentivised to bring exclusive beer. The park setting makes it easy to visit each brewery in a long row curved around the pond. Tix and Info HERE
SEP 30; Black Acre Barrels on Bonna, HERE for TIX, 1-5pm, Black Acre Production Facility, 5529 Bonna Ave, Indianapolis; barrel aged beer fest! Each Barrels on Bonna ticket includes a bottle of Beard Tax Russian imperial stout and a branded glass to take home. There will be Beard Tax, Barrel Aged Beard Tax, and Beard Tax specialty infused varieties. Fest also includes over 15 Indiana breweries plus out-of-state offerings and many beers at the festival will never be found in stores Profits go to The Pourhouse charity for homeless rehabilitation. SEP 30: Herron-Morton Park Oktoberfest; ($10) 3-9pm; local neighborhood fest promoting the neighborhood. Sun King, Mashcraft, Cannonball, and Central State will be there as the local beers with a couple of food options. INFO Here
SEP 30; Festiv-Ale for Cystic Fibrosis; 4-8 pm; ($55 or $75) Pan-Am Plaza, downtown Indianapolis; Read the story behind Stephanie, the Chair who suffers from this horrible disease — from our interview last year Click here to read. SEP 9; 2-6 pm, Fort Wayne Brewed IN the Fort actually goes WAY beyond Ft. Wayne, This fest features over 50 breweries or cider or mead makers from Central Indiana to the far north! Have you tried beer from Hop River, Trubble, 10-56, Gnometown, Laotto, Man Cave, or maybe from Summit City? There is a looong list of breweries that many have not yet sampled. Pace yourself! SEP 15-16; GnawBrew 2017; Friday night is VIP ($100), Saturday is General ($50); Rural Brown County at the Valley Branch Retreat; This is one of the most unusual beer fests we’ve attended. There is camping, there is great beer, it is quaint and quiet and you can meet brewers and reps in a relaxed setting. There is a beautiful creek running through the property! Get TIX HERE
SEPT 16: Monastery Beer Fest, Ferdinand, 12-4, With Dinner on Friday, Sept. 15 including local beer pairing. The Fest will feature some Belgian beer, some local beer, and the beer from St Benedict’s Brew Works! Grounds tours are available. For tickets order online through itickets here or you’ll find tickets at the gate!
SEP 16: South Bend Potawatomi Zoo Brew; 6-9 pm; $45 General (VIP must phone for details). Local craft breweries, 4 oz ‘glass,’ food trucks, live music. INFO HERE
SEP 16; Whitestown Brew Fest; 12-4:30 pm; 1-4 General ($35), VIP starts noon ($55), Want to try beer from new Traders Beer Company of Indy (86th and Zionsville Rd) or Moontown of Whitestown (both coming soon, but sampling now) and about 15 to 25 breweries + ciders and even kombucha (look it up – grin).
